Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep...

I am about 99% finished with Kate's costume. I have about 1/4 of the dress left to hem. I wanted her to have a poofy slip to wear under her dress, so I went out in search of one this morning. You might be surprised, but they are harder to find than you might think. I finally found one at Little Things Mean Alot in American Fork. I also found her staff at Halloween USA.

So, even though it's not completely done, I had to make her try on the whole gettup. I think it's adorable. And of course Andie wanted to wear her "my Sheep." How could I say no? So we tried to take a couple of pictures.

Andie was not as into the whole "posing" thing as Kate.

It was too bright on the front porch.

So we tried the fireplace.

I thought this one was pretty cute.

Then we tried the back porch.

Kate is pretty excited about her costume, and can't wait to wear it to Preschool next week. I just hope Andie will keep hers on for Halloween.

My Little Lamb

Andie's Halloween costume came in the mail today. I was so excited to try it on her. She was asleep when the UPS man came, so I had to wait until she woke up for her to try it on. I think she likes it.
The booties.

Smooch! xoxoxo!

The cutest little lamb ever!

So, here's the question...for those of you who don't already know.

What is Kate going to be?

Roberta

I had a conversation with Kate today that was rather interesting. She's really been into figuring out things lately. Today it was how some people have curly hair.

Kate (K): Mom how does Chelsea's hair stay curly?

Me (Me): Her hair grows curly.

K: Will my hair ever grow curly?

Me: No, your hair will always grow straight.

K: So did she come out with curly hair?
(Translation: Was she born with curly hair?)

Me: Yep.

K: Kinda like your friend Roberta, huh?

Me: Who?

K: Roberta!

Me: You mean Aunt Maryann?

K: No, Roberta!

Me: Who's Roberta?

K: Your friend Roberta, Mom! Little Allen's mom.

Me: Oh, Roberta. Yeah. Like hers.

How could I have forgotten my friend Roberta?!? Could it be that Kate meant my friend Gerberta?!? Apparently I've had my first "Duh, mom!" moment.

And with this kid, I'm sure there are more to come!

NOT AGAIN!!!

Andie has suffered yet another haircut by Kate.

Luckily Kate survived, and has lived to tell the tale.

Apparently Andie found the scissors, and Kate told her "you can't play with those. Put them away." So Andie did. Then, Kate said, "Then I was sitting on the toilet, and I thought I wanted to cut Andie's hair, so I could be a grown-up. So I did."

Anyways, this time it was just a little ponytail off the top of her head, and it was cut above the elastic this time. There is a place right in the front where it's pretty much to the scalp, but there's still that baby fringe there too. Hopefully this time it won't take as long to grow out!

This video shows how I fixed Andie's hair today. It also shows how much she loves her Bama and Papa (my parents).

Cute despite the cut!

The side that got chopped.

I decided to have Jamie cut Kate's hair short so it would have to grow out like Andie's. Laraasked Kate why she didn't cut her own hair. Her reply, "Because my hair is pretty."

The back.

New Hair?

So, I've been toying with the idea of getting a body wave. I've actually been thinking about this for about a year now, and I think I've made my decision. This is what I'm picturing:

Loose, wavy, messy curls.

What do you think?

Watch Out World, Here She Comes!!!

Kate started preschool today. (Yeah for mom! 2 whole hours to get errands done with only one kiddo to lug around!) Kate was so excited to start preschool. She woke up and kept asking if it was time to go yet. She willingly got dressed in the outfit I picked for her (a total first for her). Let me fix her hair without fighting it, and even wanted me to curl it under with the curling iron. She ate breakfast, brushed her teeth, and got her backpack ready all by herself. She was dissapointed that it still wasn't time to go yet. So she got to watch a cartoon to pass the time.

Unfortunately, my camera has recently kicked the bucket and is no longer functioning. So I have no pictures to document this wonderful day. Hopefully we will be getting a new camera soon.

Home Sweet Home

We are finally moved in and mostly unpacked. We're starting to feel somewhat settled, and are loving the new house. The girls are doing well, and Kate has already made some new friends. She also starts her new preschool in about a week and a half. She can't wait! We just barely got our home phone hooked up (yesterday), but were lucky enough to keep the same phone number.

The back view.

More pictures to come later.
