An Early Valentine

A couple of weeks ago we were invited up to Rob's boss' house for dinner. While we were there, Kate made a valentine for me with the help of one of their daughters. I was given specific instructions not to open it until Valentine's Day. I had completly forgotten about it when I found it in the drawer a few days ago. And of course I had to peek!

Followed by, "Love, Kate."

Bamma and Papa Come for Christmas

My mom and dad drove in from Indiana to spend Christmas out here. Kate and Andie were so excited that Bamma and Papa were coming. Once they were here, Andie wanted nothing to do with me. She wanted Papa!

She wanted Papa when she was hurt, she wanted Papa to snuggle with, and she even wanted Papa to change her bum. It took awhile to convince her that Papa doesn't change bums! She and Papa were best buds while he was here.

In the mornings whien the girls would wake up, they would go into Bamma and Papa's room and snuggle for awhile. Kate would snuggle with Bamma and Andie, of course, wanted Papa. It was great! This allowed me to get a little extra, much needed, beauty sleep!

My mom did get a little time with Andie, but only when reading stories.

Then it was back to Papa!

Preschool Christmas Program

Kate is the "W"

Kate's preschool put on a Christmas program. It was cute. They sang all the Christmas songs they'd learned, and then each child had a two line speaking part. Kate was the very first to go. Her part was, "Merry Christmas, is a phrase that everyone's saying now a-days." She did an awesome job and didn't even get nervous.

What party in December is complete without a visit from the Big Guy himself?!? Kate was so excited to see Santa and told him that she wanted a trampoline for Christmas. Santa wasn't so sure he'd be able to fit a trampoline in his sleigh.

After Kate visited with Santa for awhile, we headed to Macey's (the grocery store) for some scrumptious soft serve. Kate and Andie were in heaven, and Rob and I got to deal with kids on a sugar high. Ahhh, don't you love December?!?

Do you know Francer and Dixon?

Kate's Version of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer goes something like this...

You know Dasher, and Dancer, and Francer, and Dixen. Dommet,
and Cupid, and Donner, and Blitzen. But do you recall
the most famous reindeer of all?
She then goes on to sing Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer almost perfectly. I just love asking her to sing the beginning of this song over and over and over. For now, I'm going to let the reindeer be named Francer and Dixen.
I'm sure by next year she'll have all the names right, but for now, Francer and Dixen are fine with me!

Little Bo Peep has lost her sheep...

I am about 99% finished with Kate's costume. I have about 1/4 of the dress left to hem. I wanted her to have a poofy slip to wear under her dress, so I went out in search of one this morning. You might be surprised, but they are harder to find than you might think. I finally found one at Little Things Mean Alot in American Fork. I also found her staff at Halloween USA.

So, even though it's not completely done, I had to make her try on the whole gettup. I think it's adorable. And of course Andie wanted to wear her "my Sheep." How could I say no? So we tried to take a couple of pictures.

Andie was not as into the whole "posing" thing as Kate.

It was too bright on the front porch.

So we tried the fireplace.

I thought this one was pretty cute.

Then we tried the back porch.

Kate is pretty excited about her costume, and can't wait to wear it to Preschool next week. I just hope Andie will keep hers on for Halloween.

My Little Lamb

Andie's Halloween costume came in the mail today. I was so excited to try it on her. She was asleep when the UPS man came, so I had to wait until she woke up for her to try it on. I think she likes it.
The booties.

Smooch! xoxoxo!

The cutest little lamb ever!

So, here's the question...for those of you who don't already know.

What is Kate going to be?

Kate's Valentine

So, Kate saw my letter to Rob, and needed to make one for her daddy too.
I think it turned out pretty cute. What do you think?

Valentine's Day Traditions

Every year for Valentine's Day, I write a letter to my husband using Conversation Hearts. I started doing this when we were dating, and I've done it every year since. It's kind of fun trying to come up with ways to use the conversation hearts. Anyways, here's this year's letter.

Our Holidays in a nutshell

We decided to travel over the mountains and through the woods to Grandma Terry's house in Denver for Christmas. The girls were excited to see all the cousins, and for Santa to come.

This is what the girls found on Christmas morning.

I think Santa did good with the wagon.

Kate loved opening presents.

So did Andie.

This is the present Kate picked out for Andie. I have a feeling I'm going to be hating all those balls in about a month!

Later Christmas day, the rest of Rob's family came over, and we did the family exchange. Andie got quite bored, and was content to curl up on her daddy's lap with her baby and cell phone.

When we got home from Denver, my parents were here from Indiana. It was fun to spend some time with them, and the girls loved having their Bama and Papa around. Andie would just walk up to my dad, and say "UP!" I don't think she's ever been held so much in her life! It was cute.

For New Years, we decided to check out Provo's First Night. It was held at the Provo Towne Center Mall this year, and thought we'd go see what it's all about. Kate loved watching the fireworks, and it was pretty fun. We didn't stay too long, because Andie was ready for bed. We came home, had some snacks, and visited with my parents. I think we were in bed and asleep before the ball even dropped.

Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
