The Game

Kate had her first soccer game tonight. I must say, it was very exciting...at least for the other parents. Kate was pretty much "that kid" who just stands around while her teammates try to score. Towards the end, she was kind of getting into the groove, and just as she was about to run it in and score, the final whistle blew! What a letdown!

On the way home we called my mom and dad and Kate told them all about her first soccer game. She told them she had a lot of fun. After she was finished talking to them, she ever so graciously let me talk to them too. I told them she was always the last one in the pack of "Herd Ball Players." I also stated that I thought she was a little timid and maybe afraid of the ball...just a titch. Kate yelled from the back seat. "NO I'M NOT!!!"

Kate actually kicks the ball in this clip.

Rob was not able to go, because he had tournament basketball games for both church ball and his city league team. After he saw the videos I took, he said, "Maybe she's just not cut out for sports. Maybe she should stick with dance."

Hopefully Saturday's game (at 9 a.m.) will be better!

It was so much fun and Kate did a great job out there in her little hot pants! She just needs to warm up a bit, she was a tad shy at the beginning. . .she will be rip roarin before we know it!

Ilove Soccer!! I played when I was a little girl. I remember one time I did not like the looks of the shin guards--so I took them out. Never again did I do that. OUCH!!!

You can't help but laugh! She's so cute! I am sure she will get more into it...at least it's something that she's really excited about!
